Another in the long list of fake patriots - those on the hard right & far right who shout loudest about immigration & English identity, but choose to spend much of their lives outside of UK. Time mainstream media & politicians called this out more.

Police in Bristol said they asked organisers of a far-right protest in city centre to move it or reschedule, because the big Shine Night Walk big cancer charity 10K fundraising walk of 2,000 people - mainly women - was planned for Friday night. Police confirmed the group refused, so walk postponed.
New analysis from @oha-updates.bsky.social shows why it's time to update the rules that determine which foods can be marketed to children so they reflect current nutrition evidence.
This is an important part of making the healthy choice the easy choice and protecting future heart health.

A rather more honest Jeffrey Archer obituary by @brokenbottleboy.bsky.social
I kept coming back to Coghlan:
"You're a liar. He's a liar and he knows it. He's even putting his wife through it. I've got nothing he's got money. I can't even go back to work"

📝This report by @thekingsfund.bsky.social highlights the impact of cuts to public health funding — which means DsPH are facing difficult decisions about which services & initiatives to fund to develop healthier places for us to all live, work, & grow in.
Great to be able to share this news! Mariam’s leadership on some of our key research programmes, as well as her wider scientific and clinical knowledge and understanding of the challenges research orgs are facing, puts her in a great place to help us beat cancer for everyone.
Green Party conference just voted in favour of this motion, and this time, in the hall itself, specifically voted against an amendment which would have removed the element about “Zionist Synagogues”. As a result, for most Jews the Green Party will now be considered to have a policy of antisemitism.
The ability to pour hundreds of millions of pounds into a loss-making TV channel, bent on wrenching British politics sharply to the right, is yet another of the ways in which extreme wealth is trying to remake UK democracy. It needs to be part of any serious conversation about political funding.

Streatham High Road is where bus priority is needed. It takes 25 minutes to go the couple of miles to Brixton and is relied upon by everyone. Hope that Lambeth and TfL will review these plans and deliver the promised improvements for bus users on the A23.
The proposals for bus priority on Streatham Common North are fixing the wrong problems in the wrong places. - fewer crossings when we need more - even worse cycling infrastructure - nothing for the bottleneck junction with the A23

Big news. Thank you Andy for firing the starting gun on change. So many have campaigned for PR, some of us for decades! Recognise the scale of challenge ahead to make it happen. But a moment to celebrate the work of Make Votes Count/Matter, Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform, Compass et al.
Burnham: "We don't let people sell food that damages health" Umm, I don't think many people - or even his own Health Dept - would necessarily agree with spirit of that. 10Yr Health Plan recognises need to change current situation: committing to introduce Healthy Food Standards reporting & targets.
