Hey Minneapolis, on Tuesday the Planning Commission is having a public hearing about Data Centers. Pack the Room!
UPDATE: thank you to community for showing up and making yourselves heard! We now have a resolution to delay this “transformation” plan!
These turkeys know what’s up
Put another way: the City could cover the full funding gap with nine days worth of MPD overtime pay.
St. Clair County, you blew me away. Change is coming. It's already here.
People are relieved," said Gibney. "They're hopeful somebody has taken a stand." If it passes, there would be no closures through next school year. But the conversation is far from over.
When Trump tried to freeze $74M in education funding in 2025, @keithellison.bsky.social fought back — and won. West St. Paul teacher Brian McCarthy says Minnesota needs that kind of public education champion as attorney general. #edmnvotes
Newsletter from CMs Wonsley, Chavez, Chughtai, and Stevenson lists the mayor's proposed cuts in terms of equivalent days of MPD overtime. ♥️✊🙏 @robin4mpls.bsky.social @jchavezmpls.bsky.social @aishaforward10.com @sorenwithward8.bsky.social
“Board directors Sharon El-Amin, who represents the north side, and Greta Callahan, who represents the southwest, co-authored this resolution. It would take all school closures off the table for next year and demand more study, public input and transparency before decisions are made beyond that.”
As completely deranged and fucked up and wrong as he is, I gotta say it is stressful to have the damn president of the United States constantly attacking my state of Minnesota, sending violence, calling for violence, putting all lives at risk, killing our neighbors. Like it really takes a toll.
Minneapolis Public Schools is considering closing 15–16 schools, including Pratt. Our students, families, and educators deserve community investment, not rushed closures that tear apart our neighborhoods. Pratt Elementary is a beloved neighborhood institution. Now, its future is at risk.
I just heard he is for the delay. No idea why he didn’t sign on.
Checking now…Although I would think it would be easy enough to sign on to something like this even if you were on maternity leave. 🙄
Thanks to all the Minneapolis city council members (including my own) who put out this message denouncing the MPS school closures plan. ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
I had some things to say at the South High MPS closures plan protest the other night, lol
Try to push through a monumentally bad plan to close a fourth of the schools throughout the district?
Prepare to deal with the ire of the Mom Brigade! ✊🏽✊🏽✨
Could not find better folks beside me in this fight.
