The NYCLU is proud to be here today for The People’s Hearing on Immigration Enforcement in NY.

This project matters. These stories matter. The human toll of the Trump regime’s racist, cruel war on immigrants matters.

We fight because we can. We fight because we must. @dlnyclu.bsky.social

"As much as Trump may suggest that he can rewrite Title IX, that is not within the power of the executive...Unless and until SCOTUS says otherwise, this general proposition still stands, which means LGBTQ students retain protections under federal civil rights law." @chasestrangio.bsky.social

Next up is Donna Lieberman from @nyclu.org discussing how New Yorkers always make our voices heard and now must we do it again by voting.

Voting is the right we exercise to protect all others. Your vote is your voice - and if there’s one thing I know about New Yorkers, it’s that we use our voice. We won’t let the fascist-in-chief and his minions in the federal government mess with our communities, our elections, or our democracy.

Today, we are at the Farley post office building in Manhattan with @handsoffnyc.bsky.social and allies to say loud and clear: HANDS OFF OUR VOTE!

We are ready to prepare and activate New Yorkers to vote and, following the election, organize them to protect the results.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court blocked USPS from enforcing key parts of a new rule that would've restricted mail-in voting for the November election. This is a major win for voting rights.

Last September, DHS mounted an armed raid on a nutrition bar factory in Cato, New York. The goal was simple: arrest as many immigrants as possible. Now, along with the Worker Justice Center of New York, we're suing DHS for targeting Latino workers and violating their rights.

BREAKING: We filed a class action lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security for its unjustified, military-style raid at a factory in Cato, NY. Federal immigration agents ripped workers from their families, violated their rights, and called immigrants animals.

Flock is not just selling cameras. It’s building a national surveillance network. But communities across the country are fighting back against these creepy cameras - and winning. Our communities deserve real solutions, not mass warrantless surveillance.

Fortunately for New Yorkers, the NYCLU isn't going anywhere. We won with Edie then and we're still fighting for equality and dignity today. And we're not slowing down.

This is a shame.

In 2013, the @nyclu.org, along with Paul Weiss, proudly represented Edie Windsor in the landmark marriage equality case that overturned the Defense of Marriage Act.

In the fight against the Trump regime's assaults on our democracy, we are stronger together.
