President Trump does not have the power to unilaterally change Title IX. LGBTQ students continue to be protected from discrimination under federal civil rights law. With the administration's continued cruel anti-trans actions, schools must not waver in their commitment to protecting queer students.
The question presented here couldn't be more consequential. Answering "yes" would require the detention--without any possibility of a bond hearing--of millions of immigrants currently residing in the United States.
The latest action rescinding the Title IX regs does not change the law. It is cruel, yes, but we should not panic and instead invest in state and local protections.
URGENT: Hours before Tennessee was set to execute the first woman in the state in more than 200 years today, a federal court temporarily paused Christa Pike's execution. Tell Governor Lee to respect the court's decision and call off her execution NOW.
