Canada, being bad-ass

Oh, many darlings were sacrificed. I will erect a memorial plaque in their honor.

Was just going through some saved screenshots on my hd and found this gem! Thank you for the kind words, D Franklin!

Back to the WIP after the 12,000 word excision yesterday. I feel like it was the right choice. Onward!

Still takes a tech person like me to implement, and it's not available on shared hosting (ie no nginx/apache config access)

800 days on DuoLingo for Yiddish. Pretty soon I'll be able to say hello.

"Reading" or stealing?

@matthewkressel.netOct 6, 2026, 8:50 PM

Same! Very cool to discover.

It's the thing no one is talking about, how AI bots are flooding the internet with traffic and harming sites without a corporate IT team (or a sysadmin developer like me) and making *us* (the website owners) foot the bill. Just one more example of the harm these AI companies are doing to the world.

Thanks! Yeah, I've cut large sections before. I think I just needed to get it out on the page first in order to see it wasn't pulling its weight. Still, there are some darlings in there. 😣

This morning I realized I have to excise a 12,000 word section of the WIP because it’s not doing a damn thing for the story. Six weeks or more of work. Oh well, back to it.
