This Thanksgiving, when your uncle starts going on about BC being the "highest-taxed province in Canada," show him this.

It's how much revenue provinces collect as a share of their economy. BC is just below the national average—the 4th-LOWEST province.

And then enjoy your pie.

This contagious claim that under the NDP BC has become 'the highest taxed province' is nonsense. Provincial own-source revenue as share of GDP is 4th lowest among the provinces, and below the Canadian weighted average. #bcpoli /2

We’re on the picket lines because management continues being unreasonable on several important and surprisingly basic fronts.

We, the roughly 30 employees at Nico Wynd Golf, will stay on the picket lines over seniority rights, unpaid wages, and harassment!

We're right in the middle of municipal elections across BC and we're saying: Vote For Here!

Find leaders here: voteforhere.ca

And check out a few of the pro-worker municipal candidates!

Day 2 of the Nico Wynd Golf Course workers' strike!
We’re on the picket lines (join us at: 3601 Nico Wynd Dr, Surrey, BC) because management continues being unreasonable on several important and surprisingly basic fronts.

“Carney is tilting the scales in the favour of employers.”

Marty Warren, National Director of USW, is right.

Carney talks about protecting workers while his gov’t undermines their bargaining power, weakens their right to strike, and puts corporate interests first.

Glad to see this! Working people deserve to know government's working to help make their lives easier — not to make giant corporations' bank accounts fatter.

Nico Wynd Golf workers in Surrey are on strike!

Approximately 30 employees at Nico Wynd Golf in Surrey are on strike over seniority rights, unpaid wages, and harassment, says SEIU Local 2 of the groundskeepers, restaurant servers & cooks, and a pro-shop clerk.

And keep the conversation going after September 30. Talk to your coworkers about reconciliation and the role we can play as individuals, in our unions and in the broader community. These are actions of solidarity — part of the only real path to lasting certainty, prosperity and justice.

@bcfed.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 9:39 PM

Today, we encourage workers throughout BC to take action to learn about residential schools and their legacy, and to recommit to truth and reconciliation. Events are taking place across the province; find one near you or online: www.indigenousbc.com/events/.

We saw an especially disgusting example last weekend with the grotesque actions of white supremacists on Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc land. BC’s unions are resolute in condemning these statements and actions.

@bcfed.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 9:39 PM

It seems unthinkable that anyone would defend that system, or deny its harms. They’re a matter of historical fact. Yet in BC today there are loud voices doing exactly that — and, shamefully, some belong to candidates for and members of the Legislature.

@bcfed.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 9:39 PM

This is also a day of reflection and learning for all of us, as we consider the work ahead in revealing and acknowledging truths, and walking together toward reconciliation.

@bcfed.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 9:39 PM

And it’s a day to remember and honour the Indigenous children who were taken and who never returned home; the Survivors who endured years of mistreatment and abuse; and their families, descendants and communities who live with the impact of that legacy.

@bcfed.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 9:39 PM

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which has its roots in Orange Shirt Day, observed this year for the 14th time running. It’s a day dedicated to understanding the legacy of Canada’s residential school system and those it affected.

@bcfed.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 12:48 AM

We recommit to fighting the disinformation and hate that is being sown against Indigenous people-from residential school denialism to fear-mongering over treaties and land claims.

And we're determined to continue our shared journey toward Reconciliation.

BCFED President Sussanne Skidmore @susibcfed.bsky.social has written to both Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir and Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of @ubcic.bsky.social expressing our outrage and sorrow over this incident, and offering our full solidarity and support.

We are outraged by the act of white supremacist intimidation and hate that Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc experienced on the weekend. And we're saddened to know how hurtful this must have been for their community's members—especially for Survivors and their families. Our hearts go out to them.

Everyone (and their dog!) turned out to send our message loud and clear to MP @terrybeech.bsky.social: Hands off our right to strike!

It's one of the most fundamental bargaining rights you have. Join the @canadianlabour.bsky.social campaign to defend it: workerstogether.ca/repeal-107-p... #BCLab
