SOUTH OF THE FRASER + TRI-CITIES These candidates have committed to our list of asks for better transit, and indulged us with a silly photo-op! 🦸🚎 A few municipalities have advance vote happening TODAY (check your city's website) and your last day to vote is Oct 17.

NORTH SHORE & BURRARD PENINSULA Transit needs a hero...... but the real heroes are the voters. ;) These candidates have committed to our list of asks for better transit, and indulged us with a silly photo-op! 🦸🚎

But TODAY (Oct 7) there's an advance vote to elect a city council in every municipality in Metro Van! Your last day to vote municipally is Oct 17! The provincial election will be held Oct 24. Yay voting. ❤️

Municipal elections are not to be confused with federal elections... or provincial elections... sometimes, like right now, they overlap. 😰

✨LIT Pass Update✨ Thank you to Councillor Ruby Campbell for bringing forward the motion, to New West council for supporting it, and to Mayor Patrick Johnstone for connecting this work to the urgent need for the Province to establish a stable, long-term funding model for our transit system.

Bus lanes on city streets are up to your city government. Fortunately, there's an election coming up on Oct. 17, and we've listed out which candidates support bus lanes on our website!

One of our volunteers just saw an R2 going down Gilmore Ave, and sure enough, both the R2 and R5 are being detoured down Gilmore due to traffic. We need true, all-day bus lanes on Hastings! (And everywhere else where buses get delayed.)

Be a transit hero, vote for a transit hero! Our poster is now available in six languages. :) Print them out and put them up at your local bus stop to remind your fellow transit riders to vote! Or pick them up from our office next to Granville Station (email us to arrange a time).

It’s a chance to hear what the candidates actually prioritize, and to let them know transit riders are expecting action.

Surrey has the highest transit ridership in the region and used to be one of the more affordable places to live; that's why it's so important for engaged citizens to speak up for transit and affordability. This conversation matters!

Ask your candidates what they'll do for transit riders, and let them know what you want! Your government is supposed to work for you. Vote on Oct. 17th or sooner!

We hope the pledge is helpful, but also, it's never a bad idea to check out candidate platforms, see how much candidates talk about improving transit (especially if they talk about improving transit in ways that are within municipal power to control).

Burnabarians: check out the Vote4Tomorrow survey. Municipal government has direct control over city streets (ie. bus lanes, queue jumps and other forms of bus priority), sidewalks, bus benches and shelters, and land use planning.

We asked municipal candidates to sign our Transit Hero Pledge, to commit to bus priority, benches and shelters, transit rider representation at the city, more housing near transit, public washrooms, and more! 🦸‍♀️🚌
