Never thought of looking for recurring blunders. I have a feeling it'll be "don't hang your queen next time, dumbass" though 😆

Totally agree that when both games are played at high accuracy, there often isn't a lot to to take away. One thing I have found in my games is how often I'm letting winning positions slip away without a blunder, but a combination of a few positional mistakes (with winning being +3 or better)
One thing I've realized is it's hard to find actionable trends, other than "don't screw up" 😅 I have been able to make a collection of 1, 2, and 3 move mates that I've missed in my actual games and turned those into puzzles though. Seeing if I can find more things like that.
Sort of what I'm playing with right now. Trying to identify losses that aren't from one-move blunders, because we know when we run into those. Always get frustrated when in the middle game and there's no obvious move, or moves, but after 3-4, you're suddenly losing.
Do you play chess online?
If so, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to answer a few questions 🙂
Those are so good
So much good stuff has arrived in HTML that gives us rich functionality for free and Chris helpfully breaks that down for us.

I feel like we'll see a "You're right, that was my mistake..." AI reply show up in a message before the end of the season
I think the thing the "but AI can one-shot it bro" commenters on these videos don't get, is while I am showing how to do something with CSS, it goes a little beyond that. I'm exploring what's possible these days, and often looking at how we can make things that aren't so straight-forward.
What do you want us to work on in 2027?
Here's a web app where you can rank the Interop proposals you care about, giving us data we can use to prioritise feature development.
So, today I built `<calc-input>`. It’s a custom input element that accepts mathematical formulas — such as 2 + 3 or (2 + 3) * 4 — and automatically toggles between showing the formula on focus and the calculated result on blur.
Remember Internet Explorer’s “Page Transitions”?
Well, they’re back, thanks to the View Transition API!

The project leverages IE’s meta tags so browser support is not limited to Modern Browsers™ but also includes IE 5.5–8.0 😆

Thanks! I find it nice that I can have a 10-20min block and not more than that. I get sucked into games and play for a lot longer 😅
And I have been on a bit of a hot streak... and today's lunch game got me to 1000 🥳
I stopped including it in my reset probably a year ago, and I've had a couple of "oh, right" situations, but it's been fine tbh.
With flex, grid, etc, how often is this really a thing these days though? Just set it in the situations where it comes up, and it becomes second nature and you don't run into issues like you just said... just saying 😉
With the CSS-in-JS mass exit happening, if you need a full stack staff engineer with several OS packages & contributions to her name _and is also really really good at CSS_, I'm available ~
Maybe even more of a reason not to even bother with a box-sizing reset in the first place 👀
