Quick portrait/profile of a Camarasaurus based on the study that just dropped.

The idea of sauropods having beaks is a cool revelation, if one that'll take some getting used to drawing lol

I have been listening to the @storycollider.bsky.social for years, so it was a pleasure to draw this special notebook for Science Storytelling Week!

I hope it can be a way to encourage more scientists, friends and colleagues, to write more about themselves 🎀

My advice as a science illustrator is that if you ever get a chance to draw the Cambrian explosion, you should go all in and spend hours researching every single one of these insane animals. πŸ¦žπŸ™πŸ¦€πŸ¦‘

Evolution is such a trip. I'm so grateful to have briefly existed on this gorgeous planet. 🀯

Tragic news for the graphic scholarship world πŸ˜₯ Christina was the life force behind UC Merced's Bobcat Comics series. None of these comics would exist without her:

She will be missed by many scholars and artists.

JJordan Collver@jordancollver.bsky.socialAug 1, 2026, 2:15 PM

I'm so sad to hear this. I'll always be grateful to Christina for getting me involved with UC Merced's Bobcat Comics - a creative nebula of info comics and collaboration that I routinely point to as a model of what all university departments should do. Such an admirable woman, she will be missed.

So happy I managed to visit this small exhibition at the Museo delle Cere Anatomiche of Bologna 🧠

It's inspiring to see the latest #GraphicAnatomy book next to these wax masterpieces. Art has always been part of science and I'm proud to be part of this long tradition 🀩

Illustration inspired by Forest Euphoria by mycologist & Author, Patricia Ononiwu Kaishian. I’m not in the business of writing reviews, but this is one of the best books I have read this year. The best way I know to show appreciation is by drawing.

The science of these little critters is pretty nuts. Here's a comic I did with @rikworth.bsky.social @owenwattsdraws.bsky.social for @bhamlalab.bsky.social #InverteFest #Sciart

Comic page featuring cartoon ripple bugs watching human canoers struggling against some rapids and talking about how much easier it is with their feathery fan structures on the tips of their "oar" legsComic page with cartoon ripple bigs talking about how their leg fans create water vortexes and allow them to turn on a dime.

A water strider for #InverteFest. I have spent an absurd amount of time watching them skate around on the water at my local streams. They move so effortlessly #InverteFest #invertebrates 🌿
