Last Saturday in France, people mobilised massively against pesticide giant Syngenta.

Our campaigner was there & came back with a reminder: connection matters. Our work in Brussels isn't abstract, it’s about people’s lives.

Yes, this post is about hope 👉 foeeurope.substack.com/p/what-a-his...

Help us make this a turning point! The European Parliament is getting ready to vote on the Pesticide Omnibus. We have a few weeks to make sure our representatives in the European Parliament choose our health over the industry’s profits. Help us put pressure on them with a few simple clicks ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Can’t say we are shocked, sadly. We’ve seen this before: industry ghostwriting EU Commission proposals to serve its own interests (remember the new GMOs deregulation plan?). But this can be a turning point. Let’s make it the final straw, and demand better for our health, for farmers, for nature!

Write to an EU politician to say no too!

FOREVER EVER?!

Listen to Agnes, an Austrian bee-keeper who has witnessed the terrible impact of pesticides on her bee hives & Carmen, a leading bee expert, as they explain why the use of pesticides cannot go unchecked. 👀🤯

Say no to the #Pesticide #Omnibus!

📣 Tomorrow we go to France to join farmers, chemical industry workers, people harmed by pesticide exposure to denounce multinationals that poison us - like Syngenta, the world's #1️⃣ pesticide seller. 🗣️ To call on our political leaders to end this impunity, to choose our health over their profits.

Today EU Member States have chosen to weaken our safeguards against pesticides, despite repeated warnings from scientists, public health experts & civil society.

🛑 Now up to MEPS to stand for the public interest and finally stop this rollback. How to give them a nudge 👉 lnkd.in/ePPGXUtR

🗣️@rajpatel.org: Int'l markets - fertilisers, seed, food processing, retailers - are extremely concentrated. The powerful corporations are often banks. Prices are not natural. They are human made and we can make them differently.

Solutions exist: stronger antitrust rules, public procurement for family farming & agroecology, firewalls between agribusiness lobbyists & policymakers. What’s missing is the collective power and political courage to deploy them. More insight & inspo in the new Agribusiness Atlas 👇

🕴️To protect their profits, agribusiness invest heavily in lobbying. According to their own declarations, just nine of the most active agrifood industry actors reported spending over 50 million € between 2020 and 2023 while the EU pesticide reduction law was under debate (so probably more)

🍔 Corporate power drives the production of ultra-processed foods because they yield the highest profits, with devastating consequences for health. In the EU, around a third of deaths from cardiovascular disease are linked to an unhealthy diet

🥩 The top 5 meat & dairy producers emit as much as one fossil fuel giant like BP or Shell. And with one billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions a year, the 45 largest meat and dairy corporations would rank ninth globally if they were a country.

@foeeurope.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 10:09 AM

🥖 Corporations make profits from food at the expense of workers. In France, producers receive just €6.90 of every €100 spent on food, almost half their share of 30 years ago. In the United States, 5 of the 10 lowest-paid occupations are found in the food industry.
