I find the argument that you soon won't be able to avoid genAI in games utterly unconvincing it's predicated on the idea that genAI is, or will be, a shortcut to higher quality (rather than a form of corner cutting that remains present in the final product) and it ignores why people make stuff

While CEO's see "AI" as tool to ensure they no longer have to pay/depend on people, workers adopting "AI" get taught that skills they don't have/other professions are worth less. This destruction of worker solidarity and interdisciplinary collaboration is a core function of the "AI" discourse.

Die Zeiten sind rau, und auch unsere Branche ist sturmumtost: Dumpingpreise, zunehmder Zeitdruck, KI, you name it.
Dagegen hilft nur eins: Sich Organisieren, gemeinsames Handeln, Zusammenhalt und Solidarität.

Especially applies to #translation. Turning bland, literal slop into a proper translation that fits the brief and the target audience takes a lot more than just "cleaning". And for creative and literary texts the best solution is usually just to start from scratch.
