Saturday 10 October is World Migratory Bird Day, so we are highlighting one of our iconic winter visitors.
Love wildlife? We need to protect the laws that protect our nature. There are just 10 days left to sign the #HandsOffNature petition: iwt.ie/what-we-do/h...
No extra funding for nature, carbon tax U-turn β the Government is clearly walking away from its climate, nature & energy security commitments in Budget 2027. Great to see coverage of our reaction to Budget 2027
The #HandsOffNature petition closes on 20 October. We are now at over 920,000 signatures, but we need your help to get to one million across the EU.

I stood in the presence of several very ancient oaks in Bandon's Castlebernard Woods a few months ago, and was in total awe.
Such trees are now *incredibly* rare in Ireland. Please support Bandon Environmental Action Group in getting the 34.5-acre ecosystem protected.

Excellent article by @ellamcsweeney.bsky.social in run-up to #Budget2027
Nature restoration is a low-cost way to tackle problems the State is paying to fix. Healthy wetlands, rivers & coastal habitats can help buffer flooding, drought & storms.

Great to see a copy of Setting the Land Free offered as a competition prize in the latest edition of the @irishwildlifetrust.bsky.social's brilliant magazine.
The Irish Wildlife Trust is Ireland's most veteran organisation fighting for wild nature (founded 1979), and I'm very proud to be a member.

Last year, Irish politicians voted against the Wolf, delivering a decision that has weakened one of Europe's most important legal protections for wildlife.
This decision opened up a new & dangerous precedent for species protection in Europe.

As part of an @irishwildlifetrust.bsky.social weekend in Derrynane, the wonderful Vincent @wildderrynane.bsky.social took a group of us snorkeling.
You'd have to see with your own eyes the insane concentration of diverse, colourful life in there to believe it.
