It's raining hard this morning and those poor
#WeeBees will be hunkered down, so I thought I would share a bit of sunshine from earlier in the week. Here's a buzzer arriving at the Blue Bee Breakfast Bar. Yum.

There are some flowers in my garden that are real magnets for #WeeBees and this blue Ceratostigma/plumbago is currently a top attraction as summer comes to a close.

A yellow and black striped Bumblebee hauls itself across the purply pink bloom of a small Hebe plant that recently bought from the garden centre. The insect's black, glistening head is bent forward and the antennae reaches across the flower with the tongue disappearing towards the target. Hairy legs cling to the blossom while the Bee's wings are folded neatly back.

8. My pocket guide to common bumblebees, free when I joined the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. Only one in shot here - a Common Carder- but there were plenty of other #WeeBees today.
