I picked up a Compaq Presario 4550 at #VCFMW. It's now fully restored and I can't be happier. I grew up with the 4526, and this is the AMD 233 MHz variant. But the chances of ever coming across that tower again is slim to none. Same form factor. Couldn't be happier.

Finally got around to putting up all the stickers from #vcfmw2026 #vcfmw #vcf21

Picked up this lovely Commodore 64 a few weeks ago at VCF MidWest. Hoping to find some time today to test it out & to crack it open to see what is inside. I kinda hope it doesn't work. I do love repairing c64s! #c64 #commodore #retrocomputing #vcfmw

Thank you to all who attended #VCFMW this year and stopped at our booth! We had a great time talking and meeting all of you. Looking forward to next year! #commodore64 #atari #8bit #trs80 #appleII #amiga #8bitclassics

#vcf needs to get on board as well. There were a small but prominent number of tables with slop posters and AI-developed products without acknowledgement at #vcfmw.

If you saw my GameBoy Camera talk at #VCFMW I very briefly mentioned printer emulators.

Well you Analogue Pocket owners are in luck because this core takes a novel approach.

Seeing you at #vcfmw was definitely a pleasant surprise. Nice to catch up with you as always!

Judging by #VCFMW there were more than a few other Mastodonians there as well. #RetroComputing

New on my blog: 5 things I learned from exhibiting at #VCFMW 2026. My main takeaway: I'm gonna need an even bigger table next year 😄

Arrrgh, batting zero today. The #VCFMW PowerBook 2400c seems to have a bad CPU board, but nothing to compare it to. Replacement OSS chip for my IIfx results in a no chime, so either the donor is bad or I was bad at it, both possible.

I might need to take a break and do something else for a bit.

Found an ISO of my favorite Ultra Game Players CD, which I still have in rough shape. I'm writing the disc on a Compaq Presario I obtained at #VCFMW this last weekend.

#VCFMW has videogame consoles, 17 pound laptops, and handhelds like you wouldn't believe.

I thought I had the best time at the largest vintage computing event in the world.

But then someone rolled up with a cesium atomic clock, and I was no longer sure...

Here are three other amazing exhibits from #VCFMW this past weekend: all with handheld devices. The #minidisc table is where i picked up a new player and a recorder for the collection.
