@teenlifeline.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 3:05 AM

Teen #SuicidePreventionMonth ended yesterday. The conversations that make it safer to ask for help are still happening today.

Teen Lifeline is here for any teen with any problem, every day of the year. Call anytime, or text 3-9 p.m., at 602-248-8336 (Southern AZ: 520-327-8336)đź’ś

Teen Suicide Prevention Month has an ending. The conversation shouldn’t. Teen Lifeline is here to help 24/7/365.While Teen Suicide Prevention Month ended, here's what keeps going:
A teen makes a dark joke and, instead of laughing it off, their friend checks in on them.

A family brainstorms together about what helps make bad days better before it's a bad day.

A classroom talks about suicide and mental health, and a student realizes they aren't the only one who's struggling.

A coach pulls a player aside because they've been quiet lately, and asks if they're okay.

Every one of these conversations where someone faces the heavy topics directly makes the next step toward support easier to say. That's how a teen learns, before they ever need it, who they can ask for help.

Teen #SuicidePreventionMonth ends tonight, but our support doesn't. Here's what happens when a teen calls or texts Teen Lifeline: who answers, what they'll be asked, and how our teen peer counselors helpđź’ś

📞 Call 24/7: 602-248-8336 (Southern AZ: 520-327-8336)
đź’¬ Text + peer counseling 3 - 9 pm daily

What will happen when I call/text the hotline? And other frequently asked questions about Teen Lifeline. What is Teen Lifeline? Teen Lifeline is a peer crisis hotline for teens, run by teens.
WHO CAN CALL? Teens and kids of any age, from elementary school to college, can use our hotline to talk through any problem or feeling. Also, anyone of any age who's worried for a teen can call/text the hotline for help too!
WHO ANSWERS THE HOTLINE? Teen peer counselors are 15 to 19 year olds who go through 80+ hours of training on how to help with any teen issue before answering the hotline. Teen Lifeline is NEVER answered by AI.
Our hotline takes calls 24/7/365, but our teens answer calls and texts from 3 - 9 pm AZ time. Outside of those hours, adults answer the hotline, and our teens go about their regular teen lives—going to school, sleep, etc. What kinds of problems can I call or text the hotline about?
Our hotline is for any problem a teen has, including those that feel too small to count or too hard to explain.

Our hotline is free, anonymous, and confidential. What you say on the hotline stays between you and the hotline.
Questions to be ready for:
“What is your name?” (We want to know what to call you.)
“How old are you?” (13 and 17 year olds have different needs.)
“What school do you go to?” (It helps us picture your daily life.)
“How did you hear about us?” (It tells us where other teens may need us.)
Share as much or as little as you want. You can also use any name you want.
“What do you want to talk about tonight?”
The rest of the call/text:
You talk, they listen. This is most of the call. Your peer counselor wants to understand what's going on as you see it, without judging.
You find options together. They don't give advice. Instead, they help you look at what you could do, think through the pros and cons of each choice, and figure out what you want to happen.
You leave with a plan. Your peer counselor stays with you until you know your next steps and have an idea of people you can lean on. (Including us! You can call back anytime.)

Youth Advisory Board member Jeremy reminds us that a simple check-in can help someone feel less alone. Reaching out can remind someone they’re cared for. 💖

Suicide Prevention Month may end today for the year of 2026, but it never ends in my world. Never give up on yourself. We want and need you to be here tomorrow and every single day after that! 🫶 #SuicidePreventionMonth #SuicideAwareness #stayanotherday #iloveyou #gratitudeattitude

As #SuicidePreventionMonth ends, I’m reflecting on how much happens behind the scenes to make this work possible. I’m grateful for everyone I’m lucky to work with, and those who continue to show up, speak up, volunteer, walk, donate, advocate, and help move suicide prevention forward all year long.

Talking about suicide isn’t harmful — silence is. One honest, caring conversation can save a life. Start a conversation. Be the difference. Learn more at nami.org/spm #SuicidePreventionMonth

Breaking the stigma around #MentalHealth & supporting those we care about is a 365-day fight. It takes every single one of us to change the culture of staying silent. Let’s #SpeakUp, #SpeakOut & ensure no one feels alone.

Suicide prevention is a year-round commitment. The work of showing up for the people in our lives is for all twelve. Stronger Together: Connect. Support. Prevent. samhsa.gov/mental-healt...

As Suicide Prevention Month ends, let’s NOT let the conversation end with September.
Sometimes people need someone to listen. Someone to stay.
Someone to remind them they don’t have to face the moment alone.

Keep checking in. Keep listening. Keep showing up. 🫂❤️

Although #SuicidePreventionMonth ends today, the message doesn't. #Suicide is a reality around the world that can be reduced by choosing #skindness, #compassion, & #empathy towards ourselves and others.

Today is the last day of #SuicidePreventionMonth but as someone who lost a friend to suicide I know #suicideprevention is a year-round process.

To prevent a suicide you need to be able to recognize the signs of someone contemplating a suicide. Please review the picture to learn those signs. 1/2

To close #SuicidePreventionMonth, we welcomed survivor & speaker Kevin Berthia, who shared his story of hope & resilience. For #WSPD, we wrote letters to those struggling & held a moment of silence. These events inspire our mission to bring new medicines to patients & families
