Ivy Bees, Colletes hederae, on Ivy flowers at West Acre, Norfolk last week.

The hedges were alive with bees & the heady scent of Ivy as we cycled in West Norfolk last week.

Ten years ago the bees were a novelty as we cycled around North Norfolk discovering new colonies.

It may be raining but the Ivy Bees (Colletes hederae) don't seem to mind.

We made this sign several years ago after crematorium staff put up tape and a "Danger - wasps" sign. We put up the sign at the end of August then take it away in mid October once the bees are no longer active.
