This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let's make some space for nature.🌿

Nature is essential for physical, emotional and mental health and well-being, as more biodiverse environments, and access to them, facilitate recovery from stress, depression & other health-related conditions. ❤️‍🩹

The 2026 @wwf.org.uk Living Planet Report is live!

The #NexusAssessment showed that biodiversity, water, food, health and climate change are interconnected. The #LivingPlanetReport brings a message of hope: by transforming these systems, we can create tipping points benefiting nature and people.

PH: One of the central findings of the IPBES Nexus Assessment was that biodiversity, water, food, health and climate change cannot be managed in isolation. The 2026 Living Planet Report, released today, reinforces this message powerfully. The same energy, food and financial systems driving biodiversity loss are also shaping the resilience of our terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems. Integrated action can generate multiple benefits at once, creating shared gains for nature and people.

The 2026 WWF Living Planet Report has been published! 📢

The IPBES Nexus Assessment resonates with the Living Planet Report’s focus on fairness: the response options that scored highest on equity also offered greater effectiveness.

Quote: "The Living Planet Report confirms that declines in biodiversity continue across the globe, driven by energy, farming and financial systems. These drivers were highlighted in the 2024 IPBES Nexus Assessment, which found that US$7 trillion a year is invested in activities that damage nature. Yet there are reasons for optimism. The Nexus Assessment highlighted 71 response options to drive transformation and generate benefits across biodiversity, water, food, health and climate. Because many response options enable and amplify one another, combinations of these solutions can become positive tipping points that shift whole systems." — Pamela McElwee, IPBES Nexus Assessment Co-Chair. The IPBES #NexusAssessment found that over 50% of the global population is living in areas experiencing highest impacts from decline of these interconnected elements, and that low and middle countries face the brunt of the impacts.

A photograph of Petare, a large informal housing settlement located in Venezuela. The overlay text reads: ">50%Global population living in degradation hotspots faced either with severe declines in biodiversity, water scarcity, malnutrition, health burdens or climate change impacts. Low- and middle income countries bear the brunt of this degradation." The IPBES logo appears in white on the top-right corner.

Together, these actions can reduce land conversion and water pollution, halt or reverse biodiversity loss, improve human health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

@ipbes.net #NexusAssessment shows that many global environmental challenges are intertwined, and so are their solutions.

On this #WorldOzoneDay, let's remember that preserving ozone in the atmosphere is vital to safeguarding all life on Earth #ForNature and people. 🐸
