As with the Mogami shown below, the text on the right reads: ‘10 October, Meiji 41 (1908), Kasuga (Mogami)’.
However, whilst it appears to be the same person’s handwriting, it seems unlikely that entries for Yokosuka and Sasebo were made on the same day.
It must have been added later.

HMS Carlisle, which was converted into an anti-aircraft cruiser in 1939, is said to have shot down 11 aircraft during the SWW (WW2) – more than any other RN vessel.

Georges Leygues (1856–1933), who also served as PM during the interwar period, had a CL and Georges Leygues-class frigates named after him.
This was likely because he served as Minister of the Navy on 3 separate occasions, across a total of 11 cabinets.

9 Oct 1943 // Cruiser HMS Carlisle was badly damaged by German air attack off Karpathos during the Dodecanese Campaign. Bombs caused heavy flooding and put her engines out of action. 24 men were killed. She was towed to Alexandria and written off as a total loss. #WW2 #RoyalNavy #NavalHistory

9 Oct 1940 // HM Trawler Sea King, in naval service as a minesweeper, was sweeping off Grimsby with three other trawlers when she was sunk by a mine. 13 men lost their lives. Her survivors were picked up by a pilot cutter, the other trawlers having left the scene. #WW2 #RoyalNavy #NavalHistory

At 6.30am, as lifeboats were being lowered, the ship was hit amidships by a third torpedo. She broke in two and rapidly sank, leaving the lifeboats struggling to pick up men from the water. 58 men were lost. She had been sunk by U.96 (the only warship sunk by that U-boat). #RoyalNavy #NavalHistory

As the Americans attempted to sail their prizes away, the Detroit exchanged fire with the British batteries at Fort Erie and was damaged. She then ran aground on Squaw Island. Later that day the Americans set her on fire after driving off a British attempt to recapture her. #RoyalNavy #NavalHistory

9 Oct 1800 // Brig sloop HMS Galgo (ex Spanish brig El Galgo) was capsized at about midnight by a sudden squall north-east of the Leeward Islands. She quickly sank, leaving 25 survivors clinging to floating wreckage. They were rescued next morning by an American ship. #RoyalNavy #NavalHistory
