There’s a very pale Buzzard appearing most days at Lytchett fields/bay that is very striking.

A Lytchett Fields Snipe out in the open and not too far away (bit mushy from the heat haze!). Sherford Pool, just across from viewpoint (24-09-2026)

A Snipe stands in shallow muddy water, in the open for a change, so its successful camouflaged plumage doesn't work.

Some photos of the four Water Rail that were feeding in the open in the same area of #LytchettBay View, 16-09-2026 around 8am. Definitely the highest number I have seen 'together' (two were in one area and two about 10m away)!

This Curlew with a yellow flag '5T' was released at Peppering in West Sussex on 10-8-2025 as part of the 'headstarting' project. Seems to like #LytchettBay, as this is the second autumn it has visited.
