And of course, there was a lot of #nature...! #Hobart #nipaluna #Tasmania #lutruwita #mountain #nature #walking #hiking #view #scenery #kunanyi #bird #flower #lichen #flora #tree #leaves #wildlife

The vegetation in Tasmania is full of texture, which makes bushwalking joyously varied; amongst these are some Tasmanian endemics. Plants pictured include two species of hakea, pimelea, celerytop pine, pepperberry, pineapple grass, speedwell bush, and one of the coral-ferns. A lone eyebright (Euphrasia collina) was in full flower already.A lichen of the genus Hypogymnia with large fruiting bodies colored gold contrasting with the silver of the main body of the lichen.A black currawong (Strepera fuliginosa), dismayed that I was not offering anything for lunch.

Today was my last full day-off in #Hobart, so I did a #walk from Fern Tree to Collins Bonnet, part of Sleeping Beauty (since that's the next play I'm in!) Stunning #views in #solitude from the #summit. #Tasmania #mountain #nature #walking #kunanyi #lutruwita

There's no better way to spend a weekday than surrounded by nature! Recently, our team got to adventure together across multiple sites in the wider Hobart region.

A big thank you to Mark Wapstra (ECOtas) for his fantastic training session on identifying eucalypts!

After record heat in some parts around here yesterday, today has started snowy on the mountain #Kunanyi with an impressive -4C, #Tasmania in #Spring .

As well as the orchid-hunting, I did also indulge in some alpinism. Far too many photos of views from the #mountain to post, but here's my favorite. That sign is not messing about, it's a pretty relentless boulder scramble, but I loved it. #Tasmania #Hobart #kunanyi #climbing #LostWorld

Looking down on Hobart from the Lost World Track.Unlike some Tasmanian waymarkers, this one is not writing cheques it has no intention of cashing. In fact, I'd say 50 minutes is pretty sprightly for the up leg. It's a three-points-of-contact-needed-a-lot-of-the-time boulder scramble, with some fabulous views. Thank goodness I am self-reliant.
