I had no idea today is #InternationalJumpingSpiderDay, so here's the first & only time so far I've managed the iconic "I'm just a cute little spood" shot. She's a female Phidippus johnsoni I saw while bicycle traveling in BC.

A bold jumping spider eating a midge as it peeps out from a hole in a metal railing. It has green-blue chelicerae and banded orange-brown and black legs.

Perfect excuse to share this gorgeous ant-mimicking jumping spider (I think Myrmarachne formicaria) I found in Drôme, France this summer while beating trees with undergraduate students on field course.
