🔗 birdbrainer.app

A relatively large, stocky bird standing inside its bower - two parallel walls of interwoven sticks - facing the viewer, with pale grey-brown plumage, a scalloped pattern on the back and wings, pale grey-buff underparts, a stout slightly downcurved dark bill, a small dark eye, and sturdy grey legs, with blurred green foliage in the background

Text on card: The largest Australian bowerbird, found in tropical and subtropical woodland and open savanna across northern Australia from the Kimberley east to Queensland. The male builds a substantial avenue bower and adorns it with bones, stones, and pale objects, and may arrange them to create an illusion of forced perspective.
