“She’s taking her back to Wally,” says CandiCrush, “that looks like RedFox on the bridge, not RedHawk! Steve, read those flags! That says VEX!”

What this means is that RedFox is warning other shipping that she is fleeing the VexCircle. There are obviously more pirates around that usual. Commander Rees has already ordered the gun crews to load the cannons.
In very clear terms, CandiCrush says, “Owen, please let her go. There are reasons. Just watch out for the RenatusVex! Steve, Max, quickly study those flags, before she’s out of sight. Steve, teach him what they mean. Obviously she’s saying VEX, but make sure that Max understands both ways to read those flags.
