Sometimes just a detail is enough to appreciate. This #1770s gold ribbed silk gown has quite a story from its many alterations, refashionings and later use as fancy dress but this point here is beautifully constructed, seams and sharp pleats and covered buttons all a-glow #VandA #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
