Didn't get time for a closer look at it, but just a couple 100 yards away was a rather large barrow just on the edge of the fields
We were then heading further east to some other sites, but on our return, this is the Klockaredösen
Unsurprisngly, aside from all the exposed Dolmens, the landscape was filled with barrows and bumps such as this nicely formed barrow just by the roadside
Next, and just a short way on the other side of the village
...I'd be hard pushed to pronounce Snarringe Dubbelgånggrift but you can see the 'double' part in the title there as its a pair of monuments just a few yards apart
First for our trip, the Skegriedösen, just outside the village of Skegrie & scarcely 2km from the coast

Down into the bowels of Taversöe Tuick... A Neolithic chambered tomb on the island of Rousay, Orkney
#TombTuesday
It's an unusual chambered tomb though as it's double tiered - meaning it has two chambers, one on top of the other
It's not clear why it was built like this 🤔

#TombTuesday has arrived and here's a fine 'local' barrow - Stand Low, near Kniveton. A partial excavation of one of the barrows in 1869 recovered #BronzeAge finds including a pottery urn, an amber ring, a perforated stone axe and a bronze 3-rivetted dagger with an ivory pommel. #Derbyshire 📷 own.
Les Pierres Plats in Locmariaquer, Brittany, June, 2023. The menhir flanks an enclosed tomb with Neolithic carvings that is now closed to visitors to aid preservation. #TombTuesday

The allée couverte of Keravel in Roscoff (Finistère) was over 20m long with a 3.5m long lateral entrance passage. By early C20 sections had been robbed and early descriptions saw it as 3 separate dolmens. In 1943 these remains were completely destroyed. #TombTuesday.
