After the picture description today, I have written a poem inspired by this capture. Our photograph captures a peaceful sunset over a tranquil lake, framed beneath the sweeping branches of a large, mature tree. The upper half of the image is dominated by the tree's dark, sprawling branches and delicate, hanging leaves, creating a natural canopy. Beyond them, the setting sun glows warmly in shades of golden yellow and soft orange, surrounded by a sky tinged with muted pink and lavender. The sun's reflection stretches across the gently rippling surface of the lake, forming a shimmering golden pathway that leads towards the viewer. The water reflects the pastel colours of the evening sky, while the distant shoreline appears as a dark silhouette of trees and vegetation. Near the water's edge, reeds and grasses rise from the shadows. A few small water birds can be seen floating across the lake, their movements creating subtle ripples in the otherwise still water. A breeze brushes through the leaves. There is no urgency here, no destination demanding arrival. Only the soft rhythm of ripples, the warmth of fading light, and the gentle reminder that peace can be found when we stop reaching and simply allow ourselves to be still.
