It doesn’t ring any bells with me, although I have found The Yateley Society which is compiling a digital library of historical information. Google search results have flagged up connections between the #OnePlaceStudy of Yateley and a couple of others: North Nibley (Glos) and Colnbrook (Bucks).

The last newly-registered #OnePlaceStudy to be featured on this #OnePlaceWednesday is Tony Spencer’s Yateley One-Place Study in #Hampshire. This OPS is based on the family histories of those listed in the 1841 census covering the three Tythings that comprised Yateley at that time.

A bit late for #OnePlaceLabourers, but I was thrilled to find this postcard of a steam cultivator in #Blaxhall - an ancestral village & very near my #Sudbourne #OnePlaceStudy.

If anyone has Suffolk #ancestry or #OnePlaceStudy, this is a great website to follow. I’ve followed Sarah on YouTube for ages, & she conjures up wonderful images of bygone Suffolk.

I treated myself to a special #Sudbourne #OnePlaceStudy purchase recently. I saw it on Facebook 🫣 so I hope it looks as good in real life! It should have arrived by next #OnePlaceWednesday, so I’ll show you then

Roger Livermore’s Great and Little Livermere One-Place Study is a #OnePlaceStudy in #Suffolk which is linked to a #OneNameStudy – the place name Livermere and the toponymic surname Livermore are derived from the Anglo-Saxon Laefermere or Levermere, the lake with flag iris. #OnePlaceWednesday

Right: A closer view of the tower of the church of Saints Peter and Paul, built with rubble flint and topped with a wooden belfry which has a pyramidal roof. The church, now an empty shell, stands amidst rough grassland with trees behind it.

Newly-registered with us is Stephen Clark’s Marske (Swaledale) One-Place-Study. The website for this North Yorkshire #OnePlaceStudy has an overview of parish history, plus pages on population, the church, the Hutton family, temperance, and the railway that never was, and more. #OnePlaceWednesday

Buildings named or labelled in Marske village include the Manor House, a School, St Edmund's Church, and the Rectory. Buildings are shaded in pink, the river in blue, and roads in a buff colour.

Gatliff Close Heritage Project Team has registered Gatliff Buildings, Westminster One-Place Study with us! As Gatliff Close (originally Gatliff Buildings) marks its 160th anniversary in 2027, this #OnePlaceStudy explores the history of the place and the people who called it home. #OnePlaceWednesday

The photos are from left to right: A small black and white picture of a bearded, bespectacled man; a black and white photo of a four-storey housing block, with a group of people (mostly children) standing on the open ground in front of it; a colour photo, presumably taken from the top of a taller building nearby, of the same building; a colour photo showing a street sign for Gatliff Road, SW1.

Part way through mapping out the mid-19th C. farm boundaries in Llanfair Clydogau for my #OnePlaceStudy & realised all these farms are leased by my 6x grandma's brother, his daughters, and his nieces and nephews... all at the same time. It's already like half the parish! #Genealogy

The Register of British Slave-traders, launched today ahead of a new BBC TV series Finding Britain’s Slave Traders with David Olusoga, will be of interest to #OnePlaceStudy researchers, but sparse information on the places to which those included were connected will limit its usefulness. [1/2]

Rare treat for me - a whole day devoted to #OnePlaceStudies! I’m researching one of the patients in my Temple Lodge Home for Inebriate Women #OnePlaceStudy, who lived in #Ruthin, Denbighshire. Next - ordering some death certificates for my causes of death project. Then some course homework.

I just learned abt Katherine Philips the other day in relation to my #OnePlaceStudy. She wrote a poem abt a nobleman from Llanfair Clydogau. Also read a cool article abt her called Archipelagic Coterie Space: K. P. & Welsh Women's Writing. #Genealogy

I spent the day sorting out the life of Phoebe Beckendall who left her husband Charles Rixon & children. She settled with Charles Reeley in Colnbrook #OnePlaceStudy using the surname Kitson. I knew something was up as she was 12 years older. There were three children born in Colnbrook…
