Two of two ceramic pieces I made for my senior show art gallery at college. No wire used.
Weight of Narcissism, 2024.
A ceramic Japanese dragon with a jade pearl weighing its head down.
#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A ceramic Japanese dragon sitting on a black metal stand in an art gallery. The dragon is very long and its body spirals upwards like a coil. Its head is firmly planted on the ground, with a green jade pearl sitting atop its head between its horns. The dragons body is black with scales carved into its body. Its stomach is bright red. Its horns, teeth, claws, and eyes are bright yellow. Above its eyes are three black spikes protruding upwards. On its chin are five black spikes with the middle spike being the longest. On the sides of its face on its jaw are three black spikes pointing straight back from its head. The dragon has two large bottom canines sticking out from the front of its bottom jaw, with smaller teeth in between them. Its mouth is closed, and further back towards its eyes are two more large canines protruding from its bottom jaw. It has black ears swiveled back, and has a sad, defeated look on its face. The dragons lips are blue-ish grey. On the sides of its nose are two long white whiskers made out of fake fur. It's horns are two-pronged and straight. Along the dragons spine are rounded spiked scales that are the same blue-ish grey color as its lips. Its hands have three claws each. The dragons position shows that it is unable to fly due to the heavy jade pearl atop its head, with its body floating upwards and its head firmly stuck on the ground.
On the metal stand sits a white card with black lettering that reads:

One of two ceramic pieces I made for my senior show art gallery at college. No wire used.
Disturbed Tranquility, 2024.
A ceramic kirin depicted in a fearful, defensive stance.
#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A ceramic kirin sculpture sitting on a black metal stand in an art gallery. The kirin is blue with dark blue dots on each scale. The kirin's stomach is a bright orange color. Its eyes, hooves, teeth, and horns are yellow. Its mouth opens into a snarl, with its tongue slightly pushing out of its mouth. It has 6 sharp canine-like teeth. Flames spew from its front shoulders, flowing upwards and back towards the kirin's back. The kirin has a white beard, mane, and tail made of fake fur. Its beard starts from its chin and grows to the start of its jaw. Its mane starts from the back of its head and stretches all the way down its back. Its tail is long and horse-like. It flows somewhat straight behind the kirin, slightly flowing upwards. The kirin is in a fearful and defensive position. Its head is lowered to the ground with its front right leg stretched forward near its head. Its front left leg is lifted up. Both hind legs are spread apart and slightly bent, the position of its legs causes the kirins body to be lowered to the ground, similar to a scared dog. The kirin's horns are two-pronged, and straight. The kirin's chin has 5 blue spikes, with the one in the middle being the longest. It also has three blue spikes on each side of its face on its cheeks. Its ears are pinned back like a horse's. Its mouth is long and dragon-like.
On the black stand there is a white card with black lettering that reads:
