So folks two things:
1. The basis for this episode is from the early manga chapters. Like around Volume 5.

2. After this episode UY went on a month long hiatus in Japan!

My GOODNESS is Lisa being fluidly animated as she runs around in the AD Police building trying to survive!

"It will be fine...I think..."
I'm getting Mina/Sailor Venus vibes from Nene this episode.

Digi is a little behind...

"I'm scared, Kou..."
Okay it's SAYING something when Rei Ayanami sounds more in touch with her emotions than this line read.

"So I can meet some beautiful GEISHA GIRLS!"
I wish this was parody or exaggeration but...no, people in this country are REALLY like this.

Okay...I REALLY like Priss' "Not Replacement"...this is a GOOD way to introduce her and the song (and music video) is a bop!

Oh...
The Tachikoma's having Halos makes me sad...

"Let's say we ask the American Empire..."
Whoa. Rewind. WHAT?!
(If this is alluding to what I think it is then GiTs has something VERY in common with The Simpsons)

Man, if Crispin Freeman carried the last episode Richard Epcar's Batou is REALLY doing a great job so far in this episode. I can hear the sheer RAGE in his voice!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode21 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

"WE DO KNOW!!!"
I see that we are continuing Batou being REALLY pissed off!
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode21 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Also Crispin Freeman is CARRYING this episode looking at his resume and realizing HOW legacy he is having been in classic anime, Pokemon, Digimon, Steven Universe, X-men, Rumic World, Gundam, Star Wars...etc...

"I'm with public security!"
That's an understatement, also Togusa seems to find himself in these kind of situations.
