If I attach the slice of bread to the animal's back, this is what happens when I let go.

In 6 billion years, the Sun will expand and engulf Mercury and Venus. It may scorch or consume the Earth.
We already have the physics to move the Earth out a safe distance, to save it. The engineering looks feasible. It should only take 100 million years or so.
