The vegetation in Tasmania is full of texture, which makes bushwalking joyously varied; amongst these are some Tasmanian endemics. Plants pictured include two species of hakea, pimelea, celerytop pine, pepperberry, pineapple grass, speedwell bush, and one of the coral-ferns.

A lone eyebright (Euphrasia collina) was in full flower already.

A lichen of the genus Hypogymnia with large fruiting bodies colored gold contrasting with the silver of the main body of the lichen.

A black currawong (Strepera fuliginosa), dismayed that I was not offering anything for lunch.

Tasmanian Devils are primarily scavengers, cleaning up carcasses with their bone crushing jaw power.
They only live to be 4-6 years of age, with an adult female weighing 6-8kg & an adult male weighing 8-11kg.
