Reflections, Roots and Ripples
Also a beautiful beech tree and ducks yesterday at Waggoners Wells, Surrey Hills.
(It’s run by the National Trust and for some reason doesn’t have an apostrophe after Waggoners although I always want to put one!🤷‍♀️)

A large beech tree overhangs the water which has reflections from surrounding trees. Ducks are by the edge of the water and the tree roots provide good footholds for getting near to the pond.

Beech trunk and roots in a hollow way in the Surrey Hills. These lanes often have steep sides as the roads are lower and are mainly caused by erosion over time.

Often an ancient road where the erosion is caused over centuries by footfall, hooves, carts and running rain water. The term comes from the old English hola weg.

I visit here often and this painting is based on one of the numerous photos I have taken of this boathouse.

Tall tree later in the sunset yesterday evening.
This is one of my favourite trees on Hindhead Common as I know when I see it I’m not far from the lane and out of the woods. It became very dark and eerie thru the trees soon after this photo.

Tall conifer trees in the background. The earth here is really sandy and the sand always gets in my trainers!The undergrowth and ferns are already brown after the scorching summer temperatures we have experienced.
