I really have no idea. It's probably too small and irrelevant to be a rival to anyone, really.

There certainly are... I just don't know what they are. Sam kinda zoned out when such things were being told to him by his CareFetcher on their way to the Registratum Spire
(That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it), and then he was off away on a ship.

(If you're interested more in this one, I've been doing #septopolis most of this month to build their little town! It's all going to be very twee and cozy for a book that is really about dealing with a shitty parent's death now I think about it)
This one is fun. As i just recently went under the knife of the spam label I will not be tagging anyone. That was awful and i wish to avoid it. 🤭
One of their rivals might be Nicole's Orleis. Historically they don't get along with strong empires

I ONLY GET TWO?!
*whimpers 'but I had a list...'*
Ok, if Ive got to limit it, I agree with @wreybies.bsky.social that the Enclosure world is the best fit for sister city.
I can even imagine The Doubtless stumbling across that world and thinking "Score! We found the missing...

Kingsmount being a fantasy version of Monterrey, my fellow Mexicans will know what I had to do.
Xica (Mexico City) is Kingsmount's "Really Big Sister" city and also its bitterest rival... At least in the minds of Kingsmount citizens. Xican citizens have a bigger...

Chevrefoil's dynamic with Or̉el̉īs (@sayaashrah.bsky.social) would be interesting! They have VERY conflicting ideals and Chevrefoil would probably be a refuge for people fleeing Or̉el̉īs, but the presence of the Nightmare could make the two cities temporarily ally under the Light.

#Septopolis 29. Everyone would be enemies with Or̉el̉īs, and they're completely right! Two places worth mentioning:
Many would seek asylum in @rtjenkinsauthor.bsky.social's Freeport if they managed to escape the regime. And maybe @charliedeltawrites.bsky.social City of Gates could help 👀
That's a question I don't really have an answer for. They're part of an Empire, so it has to have relationships with other cities and states of that Empire. But I haven't really worked that out, as it's not relevant to the story I'm writing. At least not yet.
Laws are enforced fairly arbitrarily, mainly because that's how the King thinks. There are local councils in areas of the city that handle things, usually with the aim of keeping themselves off the Royal radar.

#TheDragonblood: I think Zonhaspalis could get some good tourism by connecting itself to a second portal system in Niona's City of Gates ( @charliedeltawrites.bsky.social ). Maybe a bit of conflict with two different patron gods, but oh well.
Sister CIty would be @scarletvmitchell.bsky.social 's Kingsbridge. The enclosed world of a station and the enclosing walls of the longhouse feel like spiritual kin. We unwittingly occupy the same star cluster. Once Tourr'di got things up and running, we were bound to meet.
Good morning, #Septopolis.
Today is the silly exercise and community engagement question!
If you've been playing solo, feel free to skip today. Otherwise, I am specifically asking you to limit yourself to two other Septy participants (especially because automod is banning/spam labeling people).
Well, the main settlement I've been talking about is the regional capital. And a burh, a sort of fortified city. Meaning that the other settlements rely on it for protection and administration.

There are three big cities in the country (this one, the capital, and a big city to the south) and they have rivalries going on. The capital is despised mostly in an unserious way. The city in the south is a more pure rivalry because both are port cities.

Port Stout, on the easternmost edge of Centre, is younger than Safe Harbor and rose while Safe Harbor was declining.
Also on the Royal High Road, situated at the meeting of the Great Ocean and Ocean of Sand, Port Stout's access to land, sand, and water secures its trade significance.

All of the sectors have existed since early in The Mayor's reign, resulting in a standardised city / town / suburb design and layout. There might be minor differences owing to geographical differences, but for the most part, you can expect any given hub sector to feel like any other.

The City of Gates is, in some ways, the centre of the world. Every city connects to it, and people from every nation pass through it.
As such, it serves as a sort of neutral ground.
No matter what else is going on in the world, conflicts are expected to be set aside in the City. 🧵
