#Rachel is expected to approach the coast of the northern Baja CA Peninsula and extreme Southern CA at tropical storm strength Saturday night. Tropical storm conditions are expected over portions of western Baja California, Mexico where Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect.

National Hurricane Center forecast for Tropical Storm Rachel, issued October 9, 2026, at 2 PM PDT. Rachel has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is moving northeast at 7 mph. Many models take #Rachel into SoCal by Sunday when it’ll be a weak depression.

Rounds of excessive rainfall will be possible near and ahead of #Rachel in the coming days, as well as some coastal flooding and massive waves.

Amazing - the regional hurricane models are making #Rachel a hurricane again before it reaches the Baja coast. Not sure about that - but certainly seems like it will be a tropical storm due to dynamic contributions from the strong upper level trough picking it up and unusually warm SSTs.
