Crazy pigeons on the Chicory 🌱. It's a Northern thing.... ?
Now netted! #allotment
Short morning on #allotment today 'cos of Dentist checkup.
Small haul of Toms, Raspberries, some non-storable onions brought home nice and dry. Windfalls, some dry beans, spring onions 🌱 #GYO
#allotment tomorrow. Damp start and dentist, then off to R&T's market garden 😂. Jobs include mini harvest and finish prepping the Garlic bed for planting at the weekend🌱. Might have to investigate the builders bag of finished compost, probably time to bag it and store over-winter in the polytunnel.
The missing photo of last Saturday's #allotment haul 🌱
Well, what do we have here? I can see windfalls, Toms a-plenty, Raspberries a-few, cabbage, peppers...
10 points if you name each one that I missed 🙏
Saving up my cape gooseberries until I have enough to make a gallon of wine.
Anyone ever made wine from them?

Tomato overload and I’ve run out of jars and freezer space! #allotment
“You get an #allotment and you grow homegrown veg to be more #healthy and then all of a sudden you’re told it’s #polluted,” he said. “I’m worried, but you’ve just got to crack on. If you dwell on it, it takes over your life.”

Enjoying the sun back at the allotment after a week away. Not much happening, it's time to start clearing and putting the beds to bed. A few raspberries though, and some pears, kale, tomatoes, broccoli and dahlias harvested.
Then it'll be on to the never finished to do list!
I didn't get a photo of the main course because we were too busy eating it but my beautiful #allotment veg included potatoes, parsnips, onions, french beans, broccoli, carrots, beetroot and cabbage. It's great to be able to serve food that you've grown and cooked yourself to the people you love. ♥️🌱
This week's #dahlias from the #allotment in northern England
A pre birthday lunch today with my mum, my cousin, my OH and our kids. I made a roast with veg from the #allotment and also a pavlova which the youngest decorated for me. Yum! ♥️
Time to harvest this year’s pumpkins at the #Allotment, and we are lucky to still have some courgettes and tomatoes to pick too.
I grew a thing! Uchiki kuri squash. First ever. Dense - weighs a kilo. No trouble getting the seeds hot enough to germinate this year. Usually feels like the allotment is a non-profit but similar squash £9(!) in Waitrose. #allotment
Showery Sunday morning seed sowing.
It's been nice to get out and do a little #gardening today and tomorrow if the weather holds we'll be off to our #allotment that we've pretty much abandoned this year after a really poor season.
Now there has been some rain the #allotment autumn crops are coming along. Cima di Rapa, leeks, radish and turnip. Brambles to dig out and the last of the potatoes to harvest. Autumn woodsmoke is in the air #allotmentlife
