The Chicagoland Amiga 4000 I picked up at VCF MidWest over the weekend made it to its new home in Los Angeles. This model came out in 1992 & was Commodore's last attempt to stay relevant in the PC world. This one has a 68040 CPU & 16MB fast RAM. Lovely!!! #amiga #amiga4000 #retrocomputing #vcfmw

Another VCF Midwest #vcfmw highlight: taking a van load of stuff to put on the free pile on behalf of @jeremysretrobar.bsky.social. Almost everything I put on the pile was picked up within seconds of me putting it down. There’s two more layers of stuff beyond what you can see in this photo

The back hatch of a minivan with several classic Macintoshes, quite a few gray box era Dells, an IBM MDA monitor, and two flat panel Apple displays.

Late post but this year was my first time tabling for #VCFMW and I already can't wait for next year

I posted a 68K Macintosh "game shell" on Github if anyone wanted to dabble in writing a vintage Mac sprite-based game.

Included, a beta of "Flappy Toaster" (a game-shell demonstrator I threw together).

A few photos from Vintage Computer Festival Midwest this last Sunday. What a great show! Can't wait for next year! #VCFMW

Playing Bomberman on an absurdly rare TurboExpress that I picked up at #VCFMW.

One of my favorite moments from #vcfmw this year was when @thegirlg33k.com let me test picoide out on her PC-9821 and do some IDE bus captures. After some shenanigans with drive geometry it booted right up off the picoide! And CD works too! Thanks again for letting me crash your table 😅

Thanks to everybody who stopped by my light pen exhibit at #vcfmw !

I had a lot of fun. Hope to see you all again next year!

Heyo! This is the side account of @juneblug.bsky.social I'm making specifically for my retro tech stuff! You may know me from #vcfmw as the table with trans Ralsei on it!

Kudos the guy at VCF MidWest that had the "Worst Games" exhibit across six different platforms. This set included Jumbo Jet Pilot for the Atari 8-bit computers. There were some real losers in there! #vcfmw

A png version of the bitmap I made for my wallpaper at #vcfmw! Feel free to use it for your own projects!

Headed home after an awesome VCF MidWest. Thanks to the organizers & volunteers! Scored this lovely recapped Amiga 4000 for half what I would have paid buying one from the UK. #amiga #vcfmw

As well as mine! Unfortunately the monitor for my setup gave me some trouble so I had to go grab a non-matching replacement, but it worked out ok! I had a very good first exhibit year at #vcfmw! I met a ton of cool people who I loved talking to!

The wallpaper will return next year...

Rootie went on a #VCFMW rampage of cuteness!

Appreciate @torbar.bsky.social agreeing to be her handler. And appreciate @jeffgeerling.com and @adriansdigitalbasement.com being great sports and allowing themselves to Get Slugged.

My very first gadget: a Sinclair Research Microvision. A gift from my dad after my mom passed away. Giving this to an 8 year old Scott started a lifelong passion for anything portable. #VCFMW #vintagegadget #retro

I couldn't resist the temptation of financial ruin... #VCFMW day 2 winnings, did not expect to find a video toaster (2 of them, at that!); shoutout Amiga of Rochester for the sick selection of goodies! :3
plus grabbed a BlueSCSI mouse pad from @museumjoe.bsky.social while I was at it too
