Land

Land, how much misery
you've brought to your people.
They're wretched when they have you,
wretched when they lose you.

Land, if only
we could inhabit the clouds.

Lost

That which is lost for forever,
that which that no one knows
but me–
I want you to know it too.
If it's lost but you know it
it's as if
it was never lost.

My hands are open,
and in every home I pour it out–
the childhood
I once had.
