autumn leaves rustle
hooo hooo hooos drift through the air
stars twinkle and dance
Owl wooed deep
within the wood -
leaves heart stars.
rattling leaves
owl's lonesome song
stars watch overhead

on my rooftop
a barn owl answers the hoot
of the stars
moonrise —
into the night falls
a rustle of leaves
Morning coffee on my porch
An owl stares at me
Who sees, who first?
leaves rustle
and an owl hoots
starry starry night

(I’m fine; internet was down but on the local news I saw others were not so fortunate.)
Ah, Susan, I am smitten by those visitors. Here’s my version:
rooftop squall plump-thump
squirrel postal service leaves
oak tree’s calling cards
acorn cups
hoarding squirrels
become litter

Acorns tap “hello”!
I step outside to gather
a few to befriend.
…and my collection grows each autumn…🧡
Thank you for the inspiration, Susan 😊

We're in the eastern storm now. Your haiku reminded me of milder days among acorn woodpeckers, where acorns are involved in different soundscapes while the woodpeckers prepare for winter.
