Would be cool if a reporter could ask them about this on camera. Or if they skip it, ask about it afterwards.

They should know what they're talking about with direct experience if they are going to micro-manage Toronto streets. #BikeTO #ONpoli

Art Spin is excited to return with one of our beloved bike tours and this time, we're heading back to the Port Lands!

We last visited in 2017, and the area has since undergone an extraordinary transformation. With the re-naturalization of the Don River and the creation of the new Biidaasige Park and surrounding wetlands, this new waterfront destination has become one of Toronto's great success stories and one worth celebrating together.

Join us on Saturday, September 19 for a one-time art experience featuring newly commissioned projects by Toronto-based writers and performers Fan Wu and Stephen Jackman-Torkoff, as well as a dance piece choreographed by Montreal-based artist Marie Lambin-Gagnon, co-presented by Lassonde Art Trail. Stay tuned for more programming to be announced, you know how we like to surprise you!

Inspired by themes of re-naturalization and the relationship between the human and natural worlds, the tour will move through a landscape where industry, infrastructure and ecology meet, before culminating in a unique industrial space for the opening of our curated group exhibition Re-Naturalize, along with food vendors, bar service and music by DJ General Eclectic so we can all celebrate together!

We're not giving too much away just yet, but trust us, you'll want to come along for the ride.ARTISTS

Fan Wu, Stephen Jackman-Torkoff, Marie Lambin-Gagnon, Paul Chartrand, Naomi Dodds, Anran Guo, Suzanne Morrissette, Lauren Schaffer, Matt Trinh, TH&B Collective, and more to be announced.

BIKE RIDE CONDITIONS:

Although most of the tour route will be on designated bike trails and city streets there will be some portions that will see us take gravel paths that might prove a bit more challenging to ride on.

NEVER BEEN ON AN ART SPIN TOUR?

Art Spin bike tours are a roving curatorial project that situates commissioned, site-specific works in unique public spaces throughout the city. Each Art Spin tour gathers a large audience on bicycles to visit the multidisciplinary installations and performances in a one-of-a-kind event. With few details released beforehand, Art Spin tours ask you to trust the curators and allow yourselves to be surprised by both the creative programming and the unusual spaces to which they lead you.PARTNERS

Thank you to all of our volunteers, partners, collaborators and supporters who make Art Spin possible.

We would like to acknowledge funding support from the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario.

We are grateful to the project partners who help bring our programming to you. This bike tour & the Re-naturalize exhibition are only possible through support from Waterfront Toronto, CreateTO, Lassonde Art Trail, Outer Harbour Marina, Toronto Port Authority and AJ Self Storage.

"The speed camera, which was near the crosswalk where the teen was hit, had been removed as part of a provincial government directive that road safety advocates and municipal leaders warned would lead to more injuries and death on city roads." #biketo #onpoli

In Ontario's case, this could be useful for extending GO train service to Uxbridge (and the Uxbridge to Lindsay Rail Trail), to Collingwood (which has a rail trail from Collingwood to Angus), and to Orangeville (where the Orangeville-Brampton Rail Trail is being planned). #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli

As someone who enjoys riding Ontario's rail trails, I enjoyed reading @taras-grescoe.com's latest piece about rail trails in general and have to agree that we should aim to allow for both rails and trails when conditions warrant it. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli www.highspeed.blog/do-we-have-t...

Great clip from @ohtheurbanity.bsky.social which shows how cycling can be more useful than transit for car-free families. Especially for trip chaining. Add this to all the other reasons why the Ford government's war on bikes is irresponsible! #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl9-...
