Ivy season again! Such a beautiful golden flower set against glossy dark-green leaves - but the shape bringing back unpleasant covid memories 🤣
Beloved by bees: ivy honey is helpful for respiratory complaints

A few nice things still up on Eggardon Hillfort (including an orchid still in flower) for #WildflowerHour but my favourite was this Harebell with it’s very aggressive and protective Crab Spider. @wildflowerhour.bsky.social

Some heavenly heather for #wildflowerhour - both the hot pink Bell Heather and the more pastel toned Common Heather. I'd not realised before what prominent styles Heather has - very perky indeed, all the better for ensuring pollination I guess. 🩷
And a stunning Red Banded Sand Wasp an added bonus.

Common and Bell Heather, Dorset. Plus a Red Banded Sand Wasp.

A few of the lovely plants still flowering up on the Chilterns this week near Aston Rowant:
Burnet saxifrage (possibly)
Harebell
Hoary ragwort
Wild basil
Pale toadflax

Five photos of different flowering plants in a grid. Top left: white florets of a wild carrot - burnet saxifrage possibly. Top right: two blue pixie hats nodding in the breeze - a pair of harebells. Below that, the bright yellow petals of hoary ragwort. Two pink flowers of wild basil are bottom right. And bottom left are three flowers on a stem looking similar to snapdrgons - pale toadflax - with darker purple stripes on a pale background, and a central yellow patch.
