Gisteravond zag ik op smeer mijn eerste blauw weeskind - Catocala fraxini. Zeldzame soort, zeker in Twente. Wat zijn ze groot! #nachtvlinders #moths #nature #naturephotography #naturebeauty

A Golden Twin-spot. A first for our garden. Soon after the pic was taken, it took off and headed straight the ‘Mönch’ to get a good fill of nectar. This takes our species count of visitors to this plant to 31.

Dutchess NY: Pale Beauty Moth, one of the moths in my backyard. Looks like lace, very white & looks very fragile. The Pale Beauty can be confused with the Light Emerald which is found in Europe, the Near East & North Africa.

Anyone else disappointed by the movie Looper? I like Bruce Willis as much as the next moth, but woah what a bait and switch on the title! Not a single Common Looper Moth featured. And yes, I checked the bark and dead leaves. Let down
