Writing Excerpt:
He didn't wander quite so far as the desert. If he was being honest, the ground's looseness and the absolute grittiness would not work in favour of either of them, not to mention it was a hassle. Byakaruso gave himself a little shake, the fur on his collar only emphasising a hunter's image. Even here he could hear the wind whistling between the rocky cliffs that seemed to serve as yet another gateway to a barren world beyond, the sand whispering their enticing wares to the savvy ear. He heard them, but he wasn't listening.

Snippet 25

“Pray forgive my curiousity, but you look to the sky quite often, ser,” Lucient asks, staring up alongside him, “why do you do so?”

Victurvien is quiet for a long while. So long Lucient thinks he may not have heard him. But he chuckles before Lucient has the chance to repeat himself.

“‘Tis better than always looking to the ground, wouldn’t you agree?”

Lucient giggles and nods.

“Is that all? That cannot be the only reason, can it?”

“Fury help me, your questions will end only at a trial before the Inquisition, won’t they…” Victurvien mutters to himself, though no real exasperation seems to be behind his words. Lucient narrowly catches himself before he answers that rhetorical.

“It is because I wish to fly.”
