Lucient narrowly catches himself before he answers that rhetorical. “It is because I wish to fly.”

Lucient has that "stares way too intensely to prove he's paying attention" look going on. He learned to do it as a servant when he was a child, now he just does it whenever and doesn't realize that it might be part of the reason people feel unnerved by him. That and his constant smile.
