#mörktober 1: goat

this piece was inspired, in part, by @gamefiend.bsky.social's call for more black faces in ttrpg stock art. in that spirit, this piece and any other piece i post this month with "mörktober" in the image is free to use for anything, by anyone (except AI skimmers & chuds.) #art

a powerfully built black man, head shaved, in gold silks and joint armor, holding aloft an ikakalaka, astride a huge white mountain goat

#MÖRKTOBER Day 8 - Wail

At the northern edge of Sarkash, where the trees meet the endless sea grows the banshee tree. The noise of the wind through it's mangled branches corrupting all who hear it. Test both PRE & TOU DR12. If you fail both you try to throw yourself off the cliff.

Oh yes. One day behind. Exactly as planned!

Day 7 of #Mörktober brings Effigy.

A little light sketching today, that's all I've got so it's all it's getting.

An effigy, a scribble human figure, as if a wicker man were being prepared for burning. Twilighty blue background fading to black at the bottom.

Day 7. Least favorite piece so far, but #morktober #mörktober must go on, right?

#Mörktober the eighth. WAIL.

A nice simple one today after the struggle of yesterday.

Monochromatic image of a vaguely luminescent pearl sitting in a clump of grass, seemingly watched over by several bright white fungi. The text reads: The Wailing of Stars The first mockeries were naught but failures. Those that came after were frail, too reflective of dying humanity. The last-so few in number-were each granted a memory of the stars. Yet a grit of humanity remained within them and the stars soon perished. These stones form within certain FRAIL MOCKERIES like pearls. Whilst they can rarely be found already removed, one can always be found within those so clearly touched by the dead stars if one knows to dig for them. Produces 2d4 dense motes of light formed during the death of a distant star. The first 4 projectiles hit a single target of your choice. The remainder hit indiscriminately. Each deals 2 damage, ignoring armour. Each pearl contains enough power to produce 20 points of light and collapses to nothing when the last is used. Sacrificing an omen recharges the pearl by d20. If the stone gains more charges than it can contain it explodes, dealing all of its newly contained damage at once.

Trouble with disgruntled employees? Banshee can modulate her voice to remedy any situation: general laziness, subpar results, even strikes! It’s generally sounds like the most blood-curdling thing you’ve ever heard, and that’s probably what does the trick.

A woman with spiky hair stands, wearing a dramatic coat. A sonic wave is coming from her mouth. She's looking scary. The image is in black and white and slightly blurred by scanlines.

Mörktober day 7: Effigy

Day 8 of #MÖRKTOBER with "Wail"! Haunting howls loud enough to be made flesh! A grim omen indeed when a banshee's cries can carry blades and bite through armor! Take care to keep your omen score low, It's much easier to tackle the terrible gifts when there are only a few in hand.

Mörktober Day 8: WAIL #MÖRKTOBER #Mörktober

A gross minstrel screaming a song.
@workerfile.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 4:54 PM

MÖRKTOBER 08 - WAIL #mörkborg #mörktober #wail #ttrpg #ttrpgart

The opening copy reads: "You are in a dungeon. Something is screaming. You are running. You do not remember how you got here. You are trapped in the chamber of a SENILE BANSHEE HP 8 Morale - No Armor Scream d4" Below that is a circle of dungeon tiles, implying that you're running in a never-ending loop. In the very center is the word: "WAIL" Beneath the circle reads the headline "what is happening" followed by this descriptor: "If you stop, the Senile Banshee will attack. If you slow down or get tired, the Senile Banshee will catch up and attack. If you start running in the other direction or do something else appropriately clever, the Senile Banshee will get confused and the spell is broken. If you break the spell or defeat the Senile Banshee you re-emerge in the real world 1d6 miles away from where you last remember being."

This sentence brought me much joy today: "These prompts are good and weird and got my brain going hard." 😊

Day 8!!
Of course, @knavesquill.bsky.social wrote the mechanics and text! (:

After October is over, I may poke at the art a bit more, she's looking a little too symmetrical.

#mörktober #mörkborg #ttrpgart #ttrpg #digitalart #artsky #bodyhorror #gore #inktober #inktober2026

A digital drawing of a partially decapitated woman, dressed in a thin, flowing dress. Her head, tilted away from her body but still attached by a thin piece of skin, faces the viewer, with the bloody stub of her neck peaking out from under it. A long black tongue extends from the gaping wound, and shines in the light. The text reads: 8. Wail Pale feminine figure, a wide slash across her neck. The wound is a mouth with misshapen rotten teeth and a pale dry tongue. A constant wail of sorrow comes from the wound, her head tilted far back to the sky. She runs straight for the first person she sees, hugging them tightly as the neck-mouth pleads for the grabbed to not leave. The hug will crush the person to death, at which point the being rises and walks on, mourning yet another love lost. She only releases her victim if brought to 0 HP, at which point she sulks away, unable to die. Red-Throated Lover HP 12 Cursed to endure -d4 Morale - Embrace d6 The Lover targets the first person she sees. Once she embraces a character, she does not let go until she or the victim fall to 0 HP, embracing them each turn. Special: Wail - All that can hear test Agility to cover their ears in time; otherwise lose an Omen. If you have no Omens to lose, instead lose d6 HP.

#MörkBorg #Mörktober #Inktober

Photo of a rectangular illustration. In the bottom left corner there is an open mouth with fangs and black lips, it looks like it's screaming. Around the mouth there are straight magenta lines from the mouth towards the edges of the painting, and there are also black and yellow "a" letters everywhere, in different fonts and sizes, there are even some anarchy symbols (capital A inside a circle)

Just four hours left this #MÖRKTOBER to back Nobunaga's Black Castle on Kickstarter, the #MörkBorg Sengoku Doom Metal Fantasy, being released in English for the first time.

All stretch goals are unlocked, so you get more value for your pledge!

For #MÖRKTOBER , I made some forest creatures as random encounters in "The Cantankerous Crusade". There's d10 of them, but let me show you three.

A stick and a crumpled pink sticker make a hatchet-like creature.A yellowed, spotted and crumpled leaf is cut to look like a weird dancing demon. The stick from a red leaf and wispy remnants of the leaf itself form a kind of murderous swan.
