I’ve started building Thumb Buddy, a cross-platform C++ video thumbnail engine.

It will analyze video frames, rank strong thumbnail candidates, and optionally use AI to refine the best candidates based on what’s happening in the frame.

Still early, but more to come.

#Cpp #FFmpeg

Skier in with a terminal overlay showing Thumb Buddy inspecting the video and reporting its duration, 4K resolution, 59.94 fps frame rate, and HEVC codec.

💾 AWE ≠ PAE.

Windows Address Windowing Extensions can work without Physical Address Extension, but PAE is what made AWE shine by enabling access to memory beyond the 4 GB barrier. 🔬 Great Windows internals deep dive from Raymond Chen.
