#TheDragonblood: Compensation is the elephant in room, here. The Defenders of Fate are neither government funded, nor are they out to bring home plunder. So, where does their funding come from to start with?

#TheDragonblood: Dragons are apex predators. They mostly eat medium-sized animals, anything large enough to be worth their time but small enough to lift in flight.
First thought was Teodora from #TheDragonblood, who's my most roguish (and Mikiva-like) character so far (though that might change as I develop my assassin cult).
#TheDragonblood: The most cynical character might be Sabrina. She's seen a lot, watching both mortals and her fellow gods over eons. And she's tried to make things better and had limited success.
#TheDragonblood: Nouns are declined for four cases (nominative, accusative, genitive and dative) and two numbers (singular and plural). They can be one of two different genders (magical and nonmagical).
#TheDragonblood: There are board games in Nemoria. They're played for fun between friends. There aren't really any competitions or gambling. Magic adds too many ways to cheat.
#TheDragonblood: This is Nemoria, so gender discrimination is not at all a thing.
I could see the Defenders of Fate being one of the few groups in Nemoria that recruits the Soulless.
#TheDragonblood: I have some scenes of future Felix where they've ended up with a magical black ring that can open portals, so they're not always stranded in whatever world they're in. Which of course they wear as an ace ring.
#TheDragonblood: You can form compounds. The base word goes last, and earlier words have their inflections removed. We said possessives go after the possessed noun, and the same is true for genitives in general, but in compounds, the order is reversed.
#TheDragonblood: I don't know, I guess I find the scary creatures cute? Well, more the fearsome ones than the eldritch horrors. Wolves, dragons, Velociraptors, they're all cuties, and I often forget that people view them with fear.
#TheDragonblood: Felix plays D&D, and Sabrina joined them for a session.
Aimetor might do magic duels; that could explain where their confidence in their fighting skill comes from. They likely also play friendly boardgames with the polycule.
#TheDragonblood: I've described the Defenders of Fate as a cult. So let's start from there.
#TheDragonblood: At the risk of repeating myself (since this is pretty much the only detail I have about Kumat at the moment), we have some pretty old structures, in particular the Pyramids and Sphinx. They do tend to get covered in sand.
#TheDragonblood: Draconoidic has SOV word order, and adjectives and adverbs preceed what they describe.
At least assuming I don't decide to make big changes from Nemorian, which is the assumption I've been working under so far.
#TheDragonblood: Felix knows a place that does good vegetarian food. They've been there a couple times before, but it's usually a little outside their price range. Especially now that they have to eat more than they used to.
Then he turns into me. I wince a little in #embarrassment seeing my own face staring back at me, with my blue eyes, stubble and messy short blond hair. And the resonance I hear from him is dull, nondescript. Even the magic items I've seen have SOME personality.
#TheDragonblood: The main divisions in the Defenders of Fate are seers and assassins. And in preparation for tomorrow, I'll add proselyters; more on them tomorrow. I may add more if I think I'm missing something.
#TheDragonblood: Felix thinks a plan would sure be nice. But they can't seem to come up with one. And even when they have one, in the heat of the moment, it often just seems to slip their mind and they end up improvising anyway.
#TheDragonblood: I do know the expressions for Nemorian. The usual Nemorian formal greeting translates to "I am trustworthy", because they can usually tell when others are lying, so if they're not trustworthy, their auras would immediately give them away.
#TheDragonblood: I hadn't specifically planned for Deiuoreks to ban art, say, depicting the Nemorian gods in unflattering ways, but he could be the type.
I'll need to think on it.
