Day 3: Roach. I love a low-budget horror flick, and COCAINE ROACH (2025) did not disappoint. Like sure there wasn't a plot, questionable performances, and probably shot on a camcorder but it's okay. It was fun to watch while stoned and that's all I need. #HQHalloween #FirstWatch #Horror

Day 2: Snake. BEWARE BOIÚNA (2026). I low-key loved this one, and it was the opposite of 8LeggedFreaks in that it wisely kept the creature hidden in shadow for most of the film. #HQHalloween #FirstWatch #Horror #Theaters

Updating the first chunk today because it's my first day off in a hot minute. Day 1: Spider, EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS (2002). I loved the homage to 1950s creature features but the CGI did not age well. I mean did it even look good at the time? I highly doubt it. #HQHalloween #FirstWatch #Horror

My #HQHalloween entries below, for @horrorqueers.bsky.social annual spooky season watchlist. I challenge myself to find a flick for each category that is a #firstWatch for me.

Your #HQHalloween day 9 prompt is tableau so any extravagant murder presentation applies. Judging from the download numbers, not a TON of people checked out the very campy Vincent Price film THEATER OF BLOOD, so you should rectify that

#NW 🎥 FRANKENSTEIN (2025) for #HQHalloween

You could do your TWISTED homework for day 7 of #HQHalloween, but if you’ve already watched that Ashley Judd thriller, then how about a delightfully unhinged sequel like ORPHAN: FIRST KILL for “Twist”?

#NW 🎥 ORPHAN (2009) for #HQHalloween

First time watch. Been wanting to watch a good gound footage horror movie!

Day six of #hqhalloween is Train. There are several obvious picks, including TERROR TRAIN, but @tracedthurman.bsky.social has a bit of a soft spot for the two Tubi remakes, which aren’t great, but ARE fun.
