Day 10 Tender
Three... Extremes (2004)
Those dumplings in the first segment did look pretty tender...

@horrorqueers.bsky.socialOne of the most intriguing changes Mike Flanagan’s #carrie TV show makes is turning the White family into doomsday preppers instead of mere religious zealots.

@horrorqueers.bsky.socialWe definitely mention this in our episode! 😅
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialIf we're referencing "tender", we must be talking flesh, right?
For Day 10 of #HQHalloween, why not indulge in some light (or heavy) cannibalism?
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialWell played 😉
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialYour weekend homework: head to the Amazon because Tuesday on Patreon, we are getting back in the water to discuss Beware Boiúna Subscribe via the link in our bio
@pacedubs.bsky.socialReposted by @horrorqueers.bsky.socialMy #HQHalloween entries below, for @horrorqueers.bsky.social annual spooky season watchlist. I challenge myself to find a flick for each category that is a #firstWatch for me.
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialYour #HQHalloween day 9 prompt is tableau so any extravagant murder presentation applies. Judging from the download numbers, not a TON of people checked out the very campy Vincent Price film THEATER OF BLOOD, so you should rectify that
@horrorqueers.bsky.social@tracedthurman.bsky.social and @joelipsett.bsky.social don't know what to make of Jess, Ashley Judd's hot mess of a character, in the 2004 film TWISTED.
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialOh wow. That’s insidious 😬
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialTomorrow on Patreon: our Requel coverage of Mike Flanagan’s #carrie kicks off with episode 1.

@horrorqueers.bsky.socialIn anticipation of Prime's new CARRIE series, we're digging into Mike Flanagan's personal statement about why he's making another version of Stephen King's classic tale. Plus: Our apprehensions about stretching the story; not casting a fat Carrie; and why Samantha Sloyan is the one to watch.
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialThe #Carrie TV series is out today so telekinetic girls are all the rage. If you want to revisit the concept in a slightly compromised way, we're still big advocates of Katt Shea's long-in-development sequel, THE RAGE: CARRIE 2
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialIs there a little more queerness/homoeroticism in #thetexaschainsawmassacrethebeginning than people realized? @joelipsett.bsky.social thinks so in our latest audio commentary

The Perfection (2018)
I mean theres a few twists in this one.
#hqhalloween
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialTomorrow on Patreon: The Requel Tier returns as we kick off coverage of CARRIE with a little primer in advance of our first full episode on Friday
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialYou could do your TWISTED homework for day 7 of #HQHalloween, but if you’ve already watched that Ashley Judd thriller, then how about a delightfully unhinged sequel like ORPHAN: FIRST KILL for “Twist”?
@horrorqueers.bsky.socialPlus: a queer-coded Camyrn Manheim; red herrings for every male character; a too-obvious villain; and the return of "Merry Christmas Daddy"!!!
