Thought I’d do a ‘Then & Now’ for #OnePlaceWednesday. This is the game van of The Honourable Alastair J. Watson of #Sudbourne - game as in birds. The black & white photo shows the van in 1912, & I took the colour photos of the game van last year at The Food Museum in Suffolk.

A Coroner’s Notebook is the latest blog post for The Lost Hamlets of Rowley Regis #OnePlaceStudy. In an OPS-connected diversion from Rowley Regis, this post highlights Ancestry’s West Yorkshire, England, County Coroner Notebooks, 1852-1909 as a source of information on an inquest. #OnePlaceWednesday

Image: A colour photo of the upper storeys (including chimneys) of part of an old country house. The parts of the house we can see are built from sandy-coloured limestone, with small windows, while the tall chimney stacks are made of red brick. Above is a blue sky, and closer to us, partly obscuring the view of the building, is a tall, evergreen hedge.

A village doctor, a mysterious skeleton, two private patients, a “fiery dragon” on the railway and a Victorian with a wonderfully dry sense of humour.

Meet Dr Thomas Allanson, who spent more than 50 years watching #Rillington change on #OnePlaceWednesday
