“Careful! It’s slippery.” At Cerulea Ingens, Kasia’s belated warning failed to stop Nayra from losing her footing on the thin layer of ice. She slipped and fell with a resounding oof, her bum aching and shoulders smarting to the seventh hell and back. Kasia rushed toward her, her snow boots finding purchase each step of the way. She reached toward Nayra and helped her get back up. “You okay?” “I didn’t hit my head this time, so that’s something.” Kasia snorted. “You’d think after all those treks through snowy Coerthas, you’d have a better grasp on where to place your foot on the ice.”

"More to the point, we have been seen together and, I'm not sure about Tuliyollal, but there have been whispers happening here." Sphene's face took on a more soured disposition. "And then there are the blatant NOT whispers," she muttered and held up a small electrope screen. Wuk Lamat bent forward for a closer look. A lot of this technology stuff was more in Koana's wheelhouse, while she had grown up in more archaic surroundings, but her time with Sphene was helping her become more familiar. There was a paused image of a Tonawata dressed in bright yellow clothes which matched her blonde hair who immediately sprung to life as her friend hit the play icon. "Heyyy my darling fans! Honey B. Lovely here talking about all the sweet gossip happening around Solution Nine!" the recording said cheerfully, although there was a level of saccharine grandstanding that sent an annoyed flick through one of the Xbr'aal's ears.

He had heard it more often in recent days as she guided him over land, sea, sky, even time itself. It had initially been met with distrust, his experiences on the First and the struggles and sacrifices of Minfillia and Ardbert still fresh on his mind. Had Emet Selch been right? Were they all just pieces on the cosmic chessboard of light and dark? Was Esca merely a weapon in Hydaelyn’s hands?

The settlement of Worlar’s Echo was bustling with activity as the gargantuan Yok Huy worked and played alongside the spirits of the mountain. His bondmate smiled, still in his leather armor which left large parts of his exposed. “It’s something that all Veena are taught. With the appropriate control of one’s breathing you can actually feel quite comfortable. Our armor is also quite padded around the chest. As long as you can keep the heart from getting too frigid the rest of the body benefits from the pumping of its blood.” The Shetona grumbled and crossed his arms as he stared intently at the other man’s exposed midriff. “I still think they should make some sort of covering for you stomach,” he insisted, although the image of Uvlo having scarf wrapped around his belly made him snort with laughter.
